Transcript – June 4, 2015: Mood and Learning

#lrnchat is an online chat over the social messaging service Twitter. It is held on Thursdays at 8:30-9:30pm ET/5:30-6:30pm PT.Participants are people interested in the topic of learning from one another and who want to discuss how to help other people learn in formal, informal, social and mobile ways. We aim to steer clear of topics that are more “training department” oriented and focus on how people learn, what they learn, and what we’re learning.  If you an idea for a topic that you would like to suggest for #lrnchat, please feel free to reach out to any of the Chat Hosts. This Week’s Chat Questions

  • Production of new neurons in the brain is required for learning, but decreases as we age. How can we offset this?
  • How does what you know about brain science contribute to how you (as an individual) learn. Does it? How/why not?
  • How do you experience the relationship between your mood and your learning? What are variables? Causal connection?
  • Have you ever paid attention to your mood and how it impacts your ability to learn? What have you found?
  • What about the mood of those with whom you are learning? How does mood impact community-learning events?
  • Nothing solidifies memory like emotion. How does this impact how we learn and what we learn?
  • What did you learn tonight?
