Transcript 3 May 2012

As the unofficial poster of the transcript, I have to acknowledge that the hashtag spam has gotten heinous. I took it out, painstakingly by hand tonight, but that can’t happen every week.  It was a vibrant conversation, but the eggsactly heinous spammers clearly affected the participants.

I confess that I don’t get two things:

  • why Twitter can’t find a way to prevent these people from signing up (how about a Captcha test?)
  • what’s in it for them (and yes I know the small return picture for spam), but it’s a Twagedy of the Commons
